Swan Valley Tour:
The Swan Valley Experience begins with a 25 minute drive from Perth city where we will visit some of the well known and not so well known wineries of the region. Travelling with Halloran's allows you to Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc your way around whilst seeking your favourite drop.
Travelling via the historical township of Guildford Our first stop is the Sandleford winery founded in 1840, Sandalford is one of Western Australia's oldest and largest privately owned wineries. Located at the original property on the banks of the Swan River. Sandalford's award-winning wines reflect contemporary wine making and include a Premium Collection and the popular Element Range.Sandalford Estate is unquestionably WA's leading 'Wine Tourism' facility.
Houghtons Winery is next on our list in the heart of the Swan Valley, with over 170 years of winemaking history Houghtons is Australia's 3rd oldest winery. The large picturesque property was established in 1836 and over the years has evolved to be one of Western Australia's most prominant wine producers and the most awarded.
Our tour continues with as we drive thru the picturesque Swan Valley taking in the sights of the historical architecture,roadside stalls selling fresh local produce and Olive groves ,before arriving for our lunch stop at Stewarts Restaurant (own expense) Opened in 2003 the award-winning Stewart's Restaurant is nestled in the vineyard of Brookleigh Estate. Operated by estate owner Nikki Brooks and her step-brother Neil Reveler, the restaurant caters for all ages and offers first-class cuisine in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Mad about chocolate thats good because our next experience is one everyone looks forward to a visit to the Margaret River Chocolate factory making award-winning chocolate products since 1999 with free chocolate tastings, interactive displays, viewing windows to watch the chocolate products being made and a family friendly atmosphere selling mouth-watering range of chocolate bars, chocolate coated delights, hand made truffles, novelty chocolates, icecreams, chocolate milk and a variety of chocolate cakes and deserts.
Ambrook winery is next The Ambrook Winery is a small, family owned winery situated on the banks of the Swan River with rich fertile soil and a sun drenched climate. They produce the finest quality grapes which are then crafted into the finest quality wines.
The Amonini family has been making wines for generations, starting in northern Italy and then continuing the tradition when the family moved to Australia. Mickele Amonini replanted the george street property in 1990 and began Ambrook wines in 1998 With a fresh and individual approach to winemaking and is already producing award winning wines. In 2004 they purchased A property in West Swan road Caversham and constructed a new cellar in 2006 which was completed and opend in july we have moved all cellar sales to West Swan road Caversham. the caversham property had Grenache and Muscat grapes planted in 1945 and are still in production today
Before heading back to Perth city our last stop is the The Swan Valley Cheese Factory which is worth a visit as it also sells olives, olive oil, breads, sun-dried tomatoes the perfect ingredients to go with the wines you have no doubt purchased on to day journey to be consumed as you sit back and reflect on your Swan Valley experience.
